The Science Behind Immune Shake Booster

Wellmune is a 1,3/1,6 beta glucan from the yeast strain Saccharomyces cerevisiae, more commonly known as baker’s or brewer’s yeast. Backed by numerous scientific studies, it’s been shown to support the immune system by priming and strengthening key immune cells for a more balanced response (1-6).

Wellmune works when it’s broken down into smaller fragments by specialized immune cells in the intestine. The fragments then bind to neutrophils, the most common immune cell in the body. With regular, consistent ingestion, neutrophils are primed and able to react quickly to pathogens in the body. Researchers have shown that daily supplementation of yeast beta glucans in Wellmune leads to an increase in the effectiveness of the immune response.

The effects have been examined in a variety of individuals – stressed adults, competitive and recreational athletes, older individuals, and children (1-6). Research in all areas consistently concludes that Wellmune is a powerful immunomodulator, supporting a normalized immune response to foreign invaders.

Wellmune has been shown to be effective at a dose of 250 milligrams per day, like that in one serving of Immune Shake Booster (1-4). However, in stressed individuals, or those undergoing intense exercise, up to 500 milligrams each day has been used to further prime, strengthen, and balance the immune system (5-6).

Reishi, Maitake, and Poria Mushroom Blend

Mushrooms have been used for centuries in Chinese medicine and touted for their therapeutic properties. They have also been researched extensively and there are more than 1,000 scientific publications examining the effects mushrooms have on the immune system (7-9).

Researchers agree that Reishi, Maitake, and Poria all contain polysaccharides that modulate the immune system. Adults using Immune Shake Booster should mix one scoop with an Isagenix shake once daily. Up to two scoops per day can be used, together or separately, during times of increased stress and fatigue, or to support intense exercise training. While Immune Shake Booster is designed to be enjoyed with an Isagenix shake, it can also be added to other viscous beverages.

What about kids? Immune Shake Booster can also be used by children ages four and up by mixing half of a scoop into smoothies, shakes, or other thick beverages.
